 Sally Rothschild - Director

Sally Rothschild, director, began her dance training at the age of 5  in Waltham Massachusetts. At eleven she began  intensive ballet  training and performed with the Children’s Ballet Repertory Theatre and the Metropolitan Civic Ballet.

She continued her training in New York City with the American Ballet Theatre School. Joffrey Ballet, Harkness Dance Center, and Ballet Arts. At sixteen she received a scholarship to study and perform at The Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival. Sally performed in Musical Productions for several years with the Reagle Players Summer Theatre and was a member of the Bay State Ballet Company in Boston Massachusetts

 She opened a dance/ fitness studio “The Workout Loft” in Boston Mass. Upon moving to Philadelphia, she began began a personal training business. She has also taught and designed dance/fitness programs for area gyms. 

Sally is a graduate of Aquinas College in Newton Mass and has done continuing studies at Harvard University and Temple University, and is AAAI and AFFA certified fitness instructor. She continues to study Ballet at the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet. She was the choreographer for the King of Prussia Players production of "Hello Dolly" July/August 09 and is currently choreographing "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", opening in Feb  2010

Sally lives with her husband John, two sons, Alec and Davis, and many pets in Wayne PA.

Jerzy Golek – Ballet Master

Jerzy Golek is experienced in all aspects of classical and modern ballet teaching performance and choreography. He began his dance career by winning a national audition in his native Poland for admission to the National Ballet Academy at Gdansk. Following graduation, he danced for the Ballet Company of Lodz, and then performed as a soloist with the Mazowsze National Dance Company of Poland and. As a member of Mazowsze Mr. Golek performed at La Scala, Milan; Carnegie Hall, New York; Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow; Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires; and the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, among others. After beginning his professional performance career, Mr. Golek continued his education to receive a Master of Arts in Dance Education from the University of Warsaw. He was awarded Gold Medal of Artistic Achievement by the President of Poland, and since coming to the United States has won awards for his choreography.

Mr. Golek has developed his own teaching style, based on his classical training in the Russian method, modified to the needs of his American students. He has taught at West Chester University, and is also the president and artistic director of Cultural Interchanges, which, among other activities, provides Mr. Golek’s students with the opportunity to attend an international summer dance festival in Poland

 Lauren Fine

Lauren Winter Fine was born and raised in Freehold, NJ where she began her dance training at the age of three.  She continued her training at the Freehold Twp. High School of the Performing Arts.  She then received a BA in Dance from The University of Maryland where she also student taught and performed.  After realizing her strong desire to teach, Lauren went on to get certified in Dance Education from Towson State University.  She then continued her teaching and choreographing career in New Jersey, Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland, and Texas.  She was the Director of Dance at The Henrico County Performing Arts High School Program in Richmond VA.  She was also the head of the Feet First’s Early Release program (an intensive program for high school students) in Bethesda, Maryland.  Her choreography of Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters for Dance Theater of Harlem’s Fabian Barnes was presented at The Kennedy Center.  Ms. Fine has also begun two jazz dance companies for children and teens and has been performing in community theater and university concerts. She looks forward to her new adventures here in the Philadelphia region.   

Susan Cade

Susan Cade , BA Music/Dance, Ithaca College; MEd Early Childhood Education, University of Illinois. While working in Washington D.C., performed various soloist roles in The Nutcracker, La Sylphide, Pas De Quatre, Paquita, Concerto Barocco, and contemporary choreography with The Arlington Ballet, Fairfax Ballet, McLean Ballet, and Arlington Dance Theater. In addition, performed Stravinsky's "The Soldier's Tale" and was an extra with ABT in Sleeping Beauty and Romeo and Juliet at the Kennedy Center. Presently, Susan choreographs for a local elementary school. Her most recent productions were Cats and a Broadway revue. She also studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet and is co-director of Pages to Pirouettes  pages-to-pirouettes.com

 

Lawrence A. Anderson, Ed. D. 

Dr. Anderson has a B.A. in Biology from Kalamazoo College in Michigan, a Masters in Education from West Chester University and a Doctorate in Education from Temple University. He has been a percussionist for over fifty years and has also studied piano, clarinet and trumpet. Dr. Anderson has appeared locally in both print and television ads as well as industrial training videos. He was the director of theater at Upper Merion Area High School from 1989 to 1997. Dr. Anderson has been an active member of the King of Prussia Players for over thirty years. During that time he been an actor, director, musical director, and a set, lighting and sound designer.
